Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

By Sandor Hugert

This game looks absolutely amazing.  It looks like it will be way    better than Call of Duty 2 and 3.  The single player looks really good and it seems like the story line will actually be pretty interesting.  The guns in the game look really cool and modern just like what the title of the game infers.  I’m mostly excited about the online part of the game, as it seems like it will be lots of fun.  The game has a good amount of online death match modes, and the maps seem really cool.  I used to love playing online on Socom for PS2, and this Call of Duty 4 online looks a lot like it just possibly better.  The graphics of the game definitely look next gen.  This time around it seems like they paid good attention on the single player part of the game and the online portion of the game, which doesn’t happen much, as most companies will just mainly just focus on one of those things.  I’m very excited about playing this game on single player as well as on XBOX Live with other people.

FIFA Soccer 08

Fifa Soccer 2008

By Sandor Hugert

I got this game for Playstation 3 last week, and it’s amazingly fun.  Ea Sports basically made everything about the game better this year.  They made the graphics better, the game play, and even the online game play.  They updated the rosters correctly, which is always a plus in a soccer game.  Some of the stadiums in the game are actually officially licensed so they look like just how they would in real life.  The stats of the players in the game are very well done.  I play the manager mode all the time, and it’s a lot of fun to use the skill points, which Ea did in last year’s game as well, on players to make their stats grow.  There is hardly any lag when you play online which is awesome because I played with people from Germany and France and there wasn’t any lag.  The main thing that Ea worked on this year was to make the game play more realistic which they achieved perfectly as it’s not as easy to score goals any more as in recent Fifa games.  The AI works much smarter against you, which is good to see.  You really have to outplay the AI to score any goals at all which many people complain about, but personally I find the game to be much more enjoyable this way.  They added another difficulty to the game so instead of World Class being the hardest now you can play on Legendary.  These Fifa games are probably some of my favorites, but this year Ea really outdid themselves from past years.

Score:  9 out of 10

Halloween Horror Night

Halloween Horror Night in Universal

By Sandor Hugert

I went to Halloween Horror Night in Universal Studios for the first time last weekend, and it was pretty fun.  The whole set up of the park was very well done by making just about everything extremely dark.  In the haunted houses, the set up was still really cool, but it wasn’t really scary at all unless you get scared by people just popping out of nowhere with scary Halloween masks on.  I guess overall the haunted houses were sort of disappointing, as they weren’t scary at all.  The most surprising thing about the park was that the Halloween shows were probably the best thing about them.  When I entered the park, I was thinking that I might not even bother to go to the shows, but I was really surprised.  They were by far the coolest things at the park.  There was one show that really stood out from all the others, and it was called Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure.  The show basically made fun of all the popular movies and news that occurred this year.  It made fun of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan a lot.  The movies that they made fun of were Spider-Man 3, Transformers, Blades of Glory, 300, and Rocky Balboa.  It was a great show.  If you go to Halloween Horror Night then make sure to watch the show.  Overall, everything was pretty enjoyable and I had a lot of fun.  I strongly advise people to go see all of it for themselves.

Avenged Sevenfold New Album

By Sandor Hugert

Avenged Sevenfold has finally made their highly anticipated self-titled 4th album which come out on October 30th.  I’ve heard two out of their ten new songs, and both of them are really good.  The two songs that I’ve heard are “Critical Acclaim” and “Almost Easy”.  I’m not sure if it’s as good as some of their really good older songs, but there is nothing wrong with them.  “Almost Easy” has a music video which you can watch on many websites such as youtube.  Many people have been waiting for this album for a long time now.  Hopefully, it will be as good as people want it to be.  Make sure to pick this album up at your local music store on October 30th or just download the songs from Itunes.
